Lavender Legacy - Chapter 5: At First Sight

At First Sight

Lila's nerves start to get the best of her since she's forced to unclog her toilet before visiting her new neighbor. Not only is she sweating from the manual labor, but also from the thought of putting herself out there for more possible rejection. Not to mention, he could be a world class jerk. Silly fairy, getting her hopes up when she hasn't even met the vamp!

Eventually, she builds up the courage to knock on Drake's door. The rumors were true--he's drop dead gorgeous, and her heart jumps into her throat and out onto the floor when she meets his gaze for the first time.

He invites her in with a smile, and they talk about their interests as they watch some TV together. He's not a jerk! What a relief. But Lila can't resist flirting with him. She knows they just met. It's silly to think he might feel the same attraction. Insane, really.

Her flirting is returned, though. Too good to be true? He could be a vampire just looking for a good time, not one in search of a lasting relationship. Then she realizes it doesn't matter. To hell with it. She'll take what she can get and enjoy it while it lasts.

Lila spends most of the day with him, and their friendship and attraction grows. Drake is so much nicer than that curmudgeon firefighter! The day has to come to an end, though. And it ends perfectly--with their first kiss that makes her toes curl.

When she arrives home, she can't sleep, thoughts of Drake tugging at her mind. So she paints the night away.

In the morning, she regrets not getting more sleep and wishes she could spend the day with Drake again, but work beckons. One of these days she's going to be able to garden and paint to her heart's content without worrying about clocking in at a job just to make enough money to survive.

She bemoans her messy house before she heads out the door. Perhaps it's time to call a maid. One fairy can only do so much!

Even through her exhaustion, she makes an important discovery at work, one that earns her a promotion. It's nice to be noticed, first by her handsome new neighbor and now by her boss.

Perhaps things are finally looking up for Lila. Will her good luck hold, or is this just the calm before the storm?

New Vampire In Town

Drake Black decides to move to Moonlight Falls because it's as good a place as any to hunker down and start working on that Great American Novel. Plus it's cheap. Not like he's raking in the cash with writing.

Drake prefers to write at night, as he's a vampire. Not your average vampire, though. For starters, he's a vegetarian. Ever try to suck the juice out of a turnip? He has! Though Key Lime pie is his favorite indulgence.

Mind you, he knows he's a little odd, but he makes up for it by being a hopeless romantic. The women he dates can't get enough of his kisses. Their only complaint is being unable to rouse him from sleep to kick him out of their beds in the morning.

Even though he's a hit with the ladies, he prefers to spend much of his time on the computer. Not only does he need to put a lot of time in working on his Great American Novel, he also finds himself procrastinating by playing games and hacking into places no Sim should be--he needs to supplement his income somehow!

Shortly after Drake settles into his new home, unhappy he had to sell his computer to afford the move (guess it's back to handwriting that Great American Novel), he hears a knock on the door.

He opens it to find a beautiful purple fairy fluttering on his doorstep. She introduces herself as Lila and welcomes him to the neighborhood. He gladly invites her in.

This is just the distraction he needs.

Lavender Legacy - Chapter 3: The Heart Wants

The Heart Wants

Lila has a good cry over her lost plants--she wishes there was something to chase off the zombies, but she knows it's not possible.

Her bad luck continues to bleed into the next day, unfortunately. She's furious, and she realizes her attitude can easily effect things around her, but she can't help herself. So, she grudgingly eats her unevenly cooked breakfast, and then curses the shower when it breaks on her as she's showering....

Enough of this. She suffers through work, then comes home and buys herself a fairy castle. It's time for some rest and relaxation, fairy style! She's already decided she's going to play hookie from work tomorrow. She sips her pollen punch, determined to stick to her guns.

At least she's able to revive two of her apple trees. And fix the damned shower.

The next day, she sticks to her decision and blows off work. Instead she finds some special seeds, sells some produce, paints, and plants. To end the day she has some fun at the Red Velvet Lounge, making friends, dancing, and enjoying herself. What a relaxing day, though the fear of getting fired lingers in the back of her mind.

Of course the fun doesn't last. She has the next day off of work, but she starts it off with her toilet breaking. This time, she's not going to let it get her down. She helps her friend Belinda by repairing her TV, paints another picture, and then has herself a fairy house party! You can't say fairies don't know how to party.

To keep things rolling along, she heads out to the Red Velvet Lounge and makes friends with Chauncey Grimm. Well, she's hoping their relationship can grow to more than friends. He rebuffs all of her flirtatious advances, though. True, he's in a relationship, but the heart wants what the heart wants!

Lila heads home, depressed over her relationship status. Can't she find someone to be happy with? Or at least someone to have some fun with? This fairy doesn't want to be alone forever. And life in Moonlight Falls would be so much better with a partner by her side.

The following day, she hears of a new neighbor that's moved into town. Supposedly a handsome, vampire neighbor. Her heart pounds in her throat as she makes the decision to visit him and welcome him to Moonlight Falls.

Will this new mystery man be the vampire of her dreams? Or will he spurn her like every other man she's fallen for?

Lavender Legacy - Chapter 2: All Work And No Play

All Work And No Play

The same night the zombie decides Lila's garden is the perfect evening snack, her boss wakes her up requesting her to cook and deliver food for a meeting. No, she isn't going to cook for him. She needs her sleep, unless he's willing to give her the day off tomorrow! Demanding sod.

However, the next day she grudgingly accepts to take some petri dishes home to wash. Can't deny the boss everything. So she pushes through the strain and does a little extra work as well as tending to her garden. She lost an apple tree and a tomato plant to the zombie.

All work and no play makes Lila a cranky fairy! But she helps her boss with some research, leaving her extremely strained by the end of the next work day. At least she gets the next two days off--she intends to enjoy herself and unwind.

Fishing, special seed hunting, reading, and gardening--ah, now this is more like it. When she's more relaxed, she heads out to the Red Velvet Lounge. She meets Belinda Crumplebottom and has fun playing some fairy tricks on her.

Unfortunately the fun of the first day doesn't bleed into the next. Lila hopes to cozy up to that cute vampire firefighter, but once she invites him over, the night ends with both of them miserable and unhappy.

She drags herself back to work the next day, which ends on a good note--she receives another promotion. She promises to work hard as a useless contraption manipulator, still hoping a job more her style will come along soon. At least Belinda seems interested in some of her home-grown vegetables. If only that could make her enough to live off of.

Lila's hope is short-lived. The next day seems like any other day with work and gardening, but it's the full moon again. Another zombie appears, devouring her tasty plants. Then another shows. A third, fourth, fifth and sixth! Oh, no, her garden is in ruins. Only two plants survive the zombie feast.

She doesn't think things can get any worse after all of her hard work was destroyed. But she goes into work the next day only to be caught in a lab explosion. She's lucky she escapes with her life, but she's left sad, strained, and singed.

Lila second guesses her life in Moonlight Falls. Will she be able to pick herself up and find happiness in this town, or should she move and leave it all behind?

Meet Lila Lavender

Lila is a fairy that loves gardening above all else. However, that's not the only thing she enjoys to pass the time--art comes a close second. By most standards, she's highly intelligent, so don't try to get into a debate with her. Not to mention she descends from a long line of temperamental fairies. It's best to agree with her, or you may see her true colors under all of that purple. She's also an incorrigible flirt--human, fairy, werewolf, vampire, it's no matter to her.

Lila just moved into Moonlight Falls, a neighborhood she hopes she'll feel right at home in. Her first few days of settling in, though, give her no time to make new friends, let alone find some romantic interests! The first day she deals with the hassle of purchasing the bare essentials for her two-bedroom ranch. But she also makes sure there's some time to start her garden as well as relax and watch part of a game at the local stadium. She also gets a job as a Test Subject in the science track! Got to make some money, no matter how menial.

As the second day in her new home dawns, she doesn't expect to be faced with a stove fire while making breakfast. A handsome vampire firefighter comes to her rescue, but she's already put out the flames before he arrives, so he's none too pleased. She tries to calm herself down for the day by going to work and then tending to her garden.

Day three doesn't leave Lila much time for anything other than work and gardening. But on only her fourth day in town, she receives a promotion at work--she's now a Lab Tech. She treats herself to a massage at the spa. Unfortunately, it's the night of the full moon, so while she sleeps, a zombie devours her garden!

Will Lila be able to repair the damage done to her beautiful garden? Find out in Chapter 2!
